Participant Safety & Assumption of Risk
At Madley Wild, our mission is to connect people with nature through ethical foraging, wild foods education, and immersive outdoor experiences. We strive to create safe, enjoyable, and educational events for all participants. However, participation in outdoor activities and the consumption of wild foods carries inherent risks.
By attending a Madley Wild event, workshop, guided walk, tasting, or educational experience, you acknowledge and accept the following:
Outdoor Activities
Many Madley Wild experiences take place in natural environments, including forests, meadows, shorelines, parks, and trails.
Participants may encounter:
- Uneven terrain
- Slippery or wet surfaces
- Changes in weather conditions
- Insects, ticks, and wildlife
- Natural obstacles such as roots, rocks, and fallen branches
- Remote areas where emergency services may be delayed
Participants are responsible for wearing appropriate footwear and clothing and for exercising reasonable care for their own safety throughout the experience.
Health & Physical Fitness
Participants should consider their personal fitness level and any medical conditions before attending an event.
If you have allergies, dietary restrictions, mobility concerns, or health conditions that may affect your participation, please notify us before the event whenever possible.
Participants are responsible for carrying any required medications, including inhalers, EpiPens, or other emergency medications.
Wild Foods & Food Consumption
Madley Wild experiences may include the identification, handling, preparation, or tasting of wild foods and beverages.
While every effort is made to properly identify and safely prepare ingredients, wild foods are natural products and may not be suitable for every individual.
Participants acknowledge that:
- Wild foods may contain naturally occurring compounds that affect individuals differently.
- Foods and beverages cannot be guaranteed free of allergens.
- Individual sensitivities may occur even when ingredients are properly identified and prepared.
- Participation in tastings is always voluntary.
Participants are responsible for communicating allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions prior to the event.
Alcohol Service
Some Madley Wild events may include alcoholic beverages.
Where alcohol is served:
- Participants must be at least 19 years of age.
- Consumption is voluntary.
- Participants are responsible for consuming alcohol responsibly and arranging safe transportation if required.
Madley Wild reserves the right to refuse alcohol service to any participant.
Photography & Media
Photographs and video may occasionally be taken during Madley Wild events for educational, promotional, or marketing purposes.
Participants who do not wish to appear in photographs or videos are encouraged to notify us before the event.
Educational Information
Information shared through our website, social media, workshops, guided walks, and educational materials is intended for educational purposes only.
Participants should never consume a wild plant, mushroom, berry, or other natural product based solely on information obtained from Madley Wild content. Individuals are responsible for independently verifying identification and safety before consuming any wild species.
